Carpets have been companions of human life for centuries. Their popularity continues to grow today. However, it is difficult to say when exactly the first carpet was woven. It is amazing how several nations simultaneously began to weave carpets without knowing about each other. Speaking of carpets, in the Hermitage you can see an ancient Pazyrak carpet, considered a world heritage. It managed to preserve its original appearance. This valuable find was discovered under the glacial layer of the hill. Carpet weaving is considered one of the oldest professions mastered by mankind. That is why it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. In the sections, the weavers got acquainted with the variety of carpets made by master carpet weavers of Turkmenistan. They examined various types of carpet weaving machines and tools from ancient times of national art and shared the finest secrets of carpet art. Nowadays they weave different types of carpets using multi-colored dyes to create even more beautiful carpets.
